 Hellooooo everyone!! Happy Halloween!

I know I said this last week and probably other times but this past week has for real been the LONGEST week of my life! It has been kind of a drag not gonna lie. October has been the longest month and I can't comprehend time anymore. How is it not December already? It could have something to do with us listening to Christmas music for the last two weeks lolol.

On Monday we were going to have a district activity but then the mission nurse texted us and told us we had to go get blood work done for more of Sister Israelsen's visa stuff. We had to go to a specific lab so we had to drive all the way up to Riverview Michigan which was like 2 and half hours away. Soooo no district activity for us. While we drove the elders had fun without us #ihavefomo. While we were driving back, we stopped in Toledo and had this really good restaurant called Bibimbop. It was just really good. The highlight of the trip. Because our p day got jipped we got to have "makeup p day hours" so we called our families on Tuesday and went grocery shopping. Since Sister Israelsen got here I have been sleeping on the floor which hasn't been awful but the APs brought us a bed so I have been sleeping soooo well! I forgot what it was like to be at a normal height while I slept. One day this week I made this pasta with homemade sauce and it was so good!! My comps really loved it. Since Halloween is coming up we had our branch trunk or treat on Saturday. My comps and I think we are absolutely hilarious so we dressed up as elders. The branch thought it was hilarious!! I even learned how to tie a tie for it!
This week I have been really diving into the Book of Mormon and man do I LOVE that book!! It has brought me so much joy and comfort in my life and I don't know what I would do without it. While on my mission I have been able to see how it has blessed other people's lives when they read it. When I get to do personal study, it is definitely the highlight of my day. I invite all of you to read it if you haven't yet! and if you don't feel like it will help, read it anyway because it's a good plot line ahahaha.
I love you all so much and I miss you!! I hope you have the best week!

Helloooo everybodyyy!! I think my emails are wayyy too long so I'm gonna ditch the day by day and just get to the point hehe.

This week was crazy and has felt like one of the longest and busiest weeks of my mission so far. The beginning of the week was mainly just focusing on getting everything ready to pick up our new trainee. We deep cleaned the entire apartment and made a sign that said "Hurrah for Israelsen" (because our trainee's name is Sister Israelsen). We thought we were pretty clever with that one. Everyone at transfers also loved it and thought it was hilarious. When we were at transfers, my whole entire district from my 1st transfer was there and it was soooo good to see all of them again! I missed them so much!! We all talked basically the whole time. Transfers were insane, like they usually are, but this one was brutal because as we were all standing outside, it started snowing and it was freezing!! Literally the coldest I've been on my mission. Once we left transfers, we went and grabbed some lunch and headed back to good ole Tiffin.

A highlight from the week is we put Wayne on date to be baptized!! He is going to be baptized on November 12th and he is so excited and so are we!! Our lessons usually go so good but sometimes I really can't tell what he is thinking. The first Sunday he came to church he said he wanted to leave the whole time and needed a bottle of jack and 2 cigarettes. It made me giggle but also really nervous lol. He came to church yesterday and told us he threw away the cigarettes he had and was for sure quitting. He's just awesome!! My favorite thing ever is to see people accept the gospel and to actaully see the difference in their life that it is making.

Another highlight is the primary president asked us to help/perform in the primary program. It was so fun to help the kids and sing up there with them. We did stick out like a sore thumb but it was worth it. After the program, the primary president brought hotdogs for everyone as a treat. If you know me I absolutely HATE hotdogs but I ate one #makingmydadproud.
I am so beyond grateful for the opportunity that I have to teach people of Jesus Christ and watch them experience the joy and peace it has brought me in my life. I'm also sooo grateful for the people I have been able to meet because of my decision to serve a mission. They are literally THE BEST!! I miss you all soooo much and I hope you have the best week ever!

Hellooo everybody!! This week has felt like the longest week ever and this is how it started!

Monday: For p day we drove to Finlay with the intention of going to Outback steak house because Sister Hamblin has a gift card. We got there and just my luck, it was closed!! We forgot it was Columbus Day and I honestly forgot that existed. We ended up going to this random Thai restaurant. I also got a package in the mail and my family bought me a Stanley cup. I am now a basic Utah girl hehe.

Tuesday: It was CRAZY! We went to Fostoria and did 2 hours of service at the Clouses and then they fed us dinner. After dinner, we had to drive all the way back to Tiffin so we could have a lesson. After the lesson, we realized we forgot some stuff at the Clouses so we had to go all the way back to Fostoria. Good thing we have enough miles.

Wednesday: We were in the car for most of the day!! We had to go to Perrysburg because we were having Mission President interviews during district council. While we were there my entire district got trainer calls meaning we are all training next transfer. Sister Hamblin and I are being put in a trio so we can train a visa waiter. Her name is Sister Israelsen. It'll be interesting trying to fit a trio in this apartment lol. We've been saying all week we are expectant mothers because we're training a baby. After dc we had to drive all the way to Bloomville which is on the other side of Tiffin for a lesson. After that lesson, we had to drive all the way back to Fostoria because a member actually fed us!! I can probably count on 2 hands how many times I've been fed by members but every time we do, it's my favorite thing!!

Thursday: Thursday went back to normal. We did service and had our last lesson with Preston before his baptism. We then had the departing fireside where the whole mission gets on zoom and the missionaries leaving share their testimonies.

Friday: Sister Hamblin and I had to be on the zoom trainer meeting at 11. That was fun to be on because you get to see all of the people who are going to train. It's basically the whole mission because 26 new missionaries are coming in this week. While we were on, the APs asked if we would lead our purpose and Sister Hamblin goes "I mess up on this every time" I told her we'll be fine... Sure enough, she jinxed us and we messed it up in front of everyone.

Saturday: We did a lot of baptism prep for Preston. We printed out the programs and made sure everything was ready. Along with plan bs and cs because something always goes wrong. I swear Satan works extra hard the day before and the day of to make the baptism not happen.

Sunday: We woke up at 6 and left the apartment by 6:15 so we could be at the church to start filling up the font. It takes 2 hours-ish so we just wanted to be safe. We opened up the font and there were 3 roaches just crawling around. Sister Hamblin refuses to kill ANY bug so I had to. When I stepped on them they made the loudest crunch sound ever and I wanted to cry. I wiped them up with a piece of toilet paper and went to flush them and the toilet clogged!! Anyway, while the font filled, we got ready in the bathroom and then the baptism was starting. It went so well and so many people showed up. There were more people at the baptism than sacrament meeting. That's not very hard to do but still impressive lolol. Right, when Preston was stepping in the water, there was a giant spider on the step, I guess we had missed it so he had to step around it. Also, we thought we filled the font up a lot more but it came to his grandpa's knees. so that's kinda embarrassing for us but oh well! He was so happy and felt the spirit so strongly when he was baptized and confirmed. Even with all the minor setbacks, it was still such a special day.
I love you all so much and think about you all the time! I hope you have the best week and let me know how it goes!!

Helloooo everyone I hope you had the best week ever! My week was very weird and felt like it lasted for 2 years so let's get into it.

Monday: P day was really chill. We stayed in the apartment and talked to our families. Aside from grabbing lunch at out favorite restaurant, that was pretty much all that happened.

Tuesday: It was my 3-month mark as a missionary. I know I've said it before but time is so weird on a mission. I feel like my transfers have flown by but it definitely feels like I've been here longer than three months. We went back to our favorite restaurant for dinner and they gave me free dessert because Sister Hamblin told them it was my birthday! They just didn't know it was my mission birthday hehe.

Wednesday: We went to district council and it was sooo good. We talked about why we are on missions and we got invited to think about the person who was an example to us to serve the Lord. I felt the spirit so strongly. After DC, we had exchanges. Usually, we would just flip-flop companions with the sister training leaders (STLs) but that didn't happen. Our STLs are training a visa waiter named Sister Austin and she's not an STL. On their past exchanges, she just usually stays with one of the STLs but, they had Sister Austin come with me and both STLs stayed in Toledo with Sister Hamblin. So I had to lead out the exchange and everything. I got to see what it's like to be an STL which was kind of fun! We don't really know why they did that because I'm still in training as a missionary ahaha. Anyway, the rest of the day, Sister Austin and I did service, taught our friend Wayne and went around to our other people. It was also my dad's birthday so I got to call him and it is always good when I get to talk to my family.

Thursday: We got up and went to a nearby track to work out. While we were there, the sunrise was so pretty!! Any time I see something like that, it just reminds me of how much God loves me!! It's the small things that help me remember that He knows each of us and is aware of us. I had 2 whole hours of personal study because Sister Austin had language study. So I used the extra hour to prepare for the exchange study. Sister Austin wanted to study more on prayer and so that's what I studied. We had a really good discussion. The rest of the day, we did some more service, and then we had to drive halfway to Toledo to switch back. Once we switched, we had a lesson with Preston and it went really well.

Friday: We had a lesson with Wayne and we taught him the restoration of the church. After teaching this lesson a few times, my testimony has really grown on this subject. I know Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God and I am very grateful for everything he went through for the church.  The lesson went so well and he said he wants to work towards getting baptized. He just has to quit smoking. So we're praying for that!

Saturday/Sunday: Saturday was a pretty basic Fostoria day. Nothing exciting happened. Sunday we went to church and both Preston and Wayne came!! It was exciting. It was Wayne's first time to church in his whole life and he's an older guy. He was a little skeptical but after church, he told us he wants us to keep coming over because he likes what we're teaching him. That got us pumped! After church, the Baldwins invited us for dinner and we had bean dip. It is seriously SO good!

I am having the best time being a missionary and I'm so grateful for this gospel! I hope you all have the best week! I love you and so does Heavenly Father!!

Hellooooo everyone!!! I feel like these letters are really boring and put people to sleep but thank you to whoever reads them lol. Anyway, I'm convinced time doesn't exist on the mission. This week feels like it has been really long but so short at the same time. A lot happened so let's get into it!

Monday: For p day we had our first district activity of the transfer with the new district. We traveled to Findlay and we all ate at Olive Garden. I haven't eaten there in forever and it was so good. I got the classic never ending soup and salad and I was very happy. After that, we were going to go mini golfing but it was raining so we decided on Goodwill. Sister Hamblin and I bought 2 new puzzles that we were very excited about.

Tuesday: Tuesday was a good day. We went to Fostoria as usual and it was good as always. When we got back to Tiffin we had a lesson with our friend Preston. The lesson went really well and at the end, we invited him to be baptized and he said yes!! He got the biggest smile on his face and it was so precious. Right after the lesson, we got a call from his aunt, Sister Reza, and she said she had just gotten off the phone with him and he is sooooo excited and so are we!! He really wants his grandpa to baptize him so his baptismal date is October 16th which is a Sunday. How cool is that?!? That night, we were doing our puzzle and 2 people texted us to set up dinner appointments! We don't really get fed so that was the best!!

Wednesday: We went to our service that we go to every Wednesday and Thursday and we taped boxes which is always fun. The highlight of the day was that night when we went over to the Padula's for dinner. They are the ones that fed us the best food I have ever had and the husband Michael is a pastor to 2 other churches. The food was AMAZING and we watched a church video with them afterward. As we were looking for the video Michael told us that he has shown church videos to his congregations before! I just love them!

Thursday: We met with these 2 brothers that the Baldwins have been seeing one of them is a less active member (John) and the other isn't a member at all (Wayne). Wayne told the Baldwins that he was interested in the lessons so we picked him up. We found out later from another sister that used to serve here that Wayne used to be completely anti. It is my favorite thing to see the Lord softening the hearts of people in Tiffin. He told us a story about how his wife and he died an hour apart in 2 different hospitals. When he passed, his wife came to him and said "I'll be here waiting for you when it's your turn but you still have something to do." I felt the spirit so strong when he told us that.

Friday: We had zone conference and it was really fun. While we were eating lunch one of the APs was gathering us to take a picture and he started by saying "all the sisters 5'8" and above come sit on the chairs. I was expecting at least 2 other sisters to walk up with me but I was the ONLY one!! Like seriously what??? It was a little embarrassing not gonna lie.

Saturday/Sunday: This weekend was General Conference and it was so good!! I know President Nelson is a prophet of God and he receives revelation for the church. God IS real. I know He sees each one of us and knows the questions and concerns in our hearts. Just ask! I just love this gospel and the peace it has brought me in my life. I love you all sooo much and so does Heavenly Father!!
