Hellooo everybodyyy!! I hope everyone had an amazing week like always!! I had the most crazy emotional week so let's get into it.
On Monday we had a sisters activity with the Flint sisters and it was so fun!! We went to this really cool book/record store and I was in heaven!! I have a record player so I bought an Elvis record and a Chicago record and it's amazing. Afterward, we went to a Mexican restaurant and not gonna lie, Mexican food in the east is not good. Western Mexican food is where it is at.
On Tuesday we were planning on having a normal day but then we ended up having to blitz the Flint sister's area because some sketchy stuff was happening so we had to go to lift their spirits. It was really fun and helped them a lot.
On Wednesday we went to our last district council of the transfer and it was an interesting day. We basically just went around and said bye to people because it was Sister Jorgensen's last day. We ended up having a huge ice storm that night so we had to stay in and cancel all of our appointments which was super sad because Sister Jorgensen couldn't say bye. That night I found out who my next companion was going to be. Her name is Sister Andrews and she's from Alaska. She's been out for 16ish months and this is her last transfer.
A term in the mission field is if you are sending a missionary home, you're killing them. So with me killing Sister Hamblin, Jorgensen, and now Andrews all in a row I am known in the mission field as the "serial killer." I was shocked because President told me I wasn't going to be killing anybody for a while and then I saw that I was going to so that's been a little hard. I guess I just have to learn something about saying goodbye to people.
The next day, I had to say goodbye to Sister Jorgensen, and man that was hard. I just LOVE her!! Words can not explain how much fun we had! Ugh, she's the best!!
On Saturday we had a baptism!! Brandi and Kolton got baptized and I was so proud of them!! It was definitely a tear-filled day because of the baptism I saw Sister Jorgensen on zoom and talked to her and she made me cry. On Sunday Brandi got the gift of the Holy Ghost and it was so special. I could just see her joy and she was just so happy.
I've been thinking a lot about afflictions and how we can get through our hard times with the Savior. In one of my personal studies this week, I read Mosiah 14:4-5. It talks about the pain and suffering Christ went through and basically says because of our choices, he was hurt for it but with his stripes, we are healed. I love that visual so much!! I just can't comprehend how much Christ loves each and every one of us because he suffered so much for each of us. And because of that, we can be healed from anything we are going through. I have been able to feel the comfort that the Atonement of Jesus Christ has brought me! Turn to Him!!
Anyway, I love all of you SOOO much and I hope you have an awesome week!!
Trust in the Lord
Love,
Sister Welch ♡
