Helloooo everybodyyyy!! I hope all is well! This week I feel like a lot happened so let's get started.

On Monday we had a district activity so we played basketball, volleyball, and kickball. Let's just say it's interesting playing kickball with 8 people. It was so hot we all felt like we were getting sunburnt so we went inside. When we got inside one of the Elders in my district brought a bunch of corn on the cob and he made us all Mexican street corn and it was delicious.
On Tuesday we had a new member lesson with our recent convert named Scott. We invited Brother Skanchy from the ward so when we were walking up to Scott's door there was this lady sitting in her car and she yells "Oh are the Mormons back?" And we turned and were like "Yep that's us" and this lady goes "Oh well he doesn't want to be Mormon and he's not even home so you need to leave and not come back" I thought that was funny because he was already dunked. AND THEN Brother Skanchy goes "then why does he keep coming back to church?" After that, we just went up and had the lesson.
On Wednesday we exchanged with the Saline Sisters. I spent Thursday in Saline. While I was there, the church released the new Preach my gospel manual for missionaries so that's super exciting
This week it's been raining on and off but when it's not raining it shoots up to the 90s and let's just say I'm dying here. The humidity makes it feels like someone is sitting on my chest and I can't breathe. Pray for me that I don't randomly pass out.
Sunday was super cool!! We were sitting in the ysa ward and this random girl walked past wearing street clothes. We went up to her afterward and introduced ourselves. She said her name is Isabel and that she's been going to church in Chicago since March but that she's not a member yet and that she wants to meet with us!! And then after church, we were in a tornado watch and when the storm hit, our power went out and apparently our power will be out until Wednesday so we have to find somewhere else to stay which isn't the best. The moral of the story is it's been a week!!
Anyway, I love you all so much!!

Helloooo everybodyyyy!! I hope your week has been good!! Mine has felt like an eternity but also so fast. Time continues to amaze me out here.

Anyway, Monday was basically the highlight of my week because we went to a record store and I found a One Direction record!! I literally almost started crying.
On Tuesday we had a member dinner with a recent convert and they ALWAYS give us leftovers. While we were leaving she gave us a bunch of fresh asparagus and so the next day I cooked her up and it was so good. I was pleasantly surprised.
On Wednesday we went to zone conference and it was fun as always! During lunch my mission president and wife sat next to me and were asking me about boys and if I had a boyfriend back home. It was very interesting....
On Thursday it started down pouring and our power almost went out a few times so that was fun. That night we had dinner with my literally favorite people ever. They're the Smiths and they met on their mission so that's always fun I guess.
This week I also made some of this pasta stuff with a vodka sauce (minus the vodka) and Sister Straatman is obsessed with it so I'm making it again this week.
I hope everyone had an amazing Father's Day!! Everyone hug their dad tight for me! As I was thinking about Father's Day I was reflecting on everything my dad's done for me and then I was thinking about our Heavenly Father and everything he does for me!! He loves us all SO much and He knows us all so personally. I am incredibly grateful for Him and everything He's given me. GOD IS IN THE DETAILS!!
Fun fact... the humidity here has been so crazy. I did my hair for zone conference and by the time I walked to the car, it was naturally curling everywhere.
That's about it for my week but I love you all!!

Helloooo everybodyyyy!! I hope everyone is having a good time. I know I am really happy not to be in Elko right now because of the Mormon cricket outbreak. I can live without that. I am absolutely loving Ann Arbor! It's so pretty here and I love the people! Anyway, let's get on with my week.

On Monday we went to some peony gardens and they were so pretty. It was like we were living in a movie. For the rest of the day, we just hung out and had a good time.
On Tuesday we had a lot of zoom meetings so we spent a lot of time in the apartment. We did some service at this place called House by the Side of the Road and it's a thrift shop for homeless people so everything is free. We actually got to take a few things which was sweet.
On Wednesday we had interviews with President and Sister Johnson. I walk in and Sister Johnson is icing her elbow and is all sorts of scraped up. She told me that she was on her morning run and she biffed it so hard that both of her tennis shoes flew off!! She ended up passing out and it was just not good. She still came to interviews and then afterward she went and got xrays and found out her elbow is broken.
Thursday was FULL of yard work. We literally did service for 3 different people and they all wanted us to do yard work so I am still sore.
The rest of the week was pretty average nothing hilarious to report like normal. Sorry about that. my brain is literally mush I have no clue what I'm even saying anymore or what has even happened. But I hope everyone has an amazing week!!

Helloooo everybodyyy!! I hope your week was amazing as always. This week was one of those weeks that felt like an eternity but flew by. Weird stuff.

On Tuesday we had MLC in Canton so we spent most of the day there talking about mission stuff. Nothing too exciting. They fed us Mexican food for lunch and just as a little helpful tip if you ever come to Michigan, DON'T get Mexican food. It's just not good here. I didn't realize how blessed I was when I had access to it every day.
It got super hot here this week. We spent a lot of time outside walking and my body hurts. I got a little sunburnt and I have a slight watch tan line. I think I look tan until I stand next to literally any other person and I'm actually whiter than a ghost so that's just great for me.
We got a referral yesterday from the temple square sisters of a man that was already at our church building wanting to meet with us. We showed up as fast as we could and he just popped off with a bunch of really good questions. He was genuinely curious. We gave him a Book of Mormon and he said he'll read it!!
On Saturday we were able to go to the temple with a recent convert for her first time. We just did baptisms with her. I get in the font and the guy baptizing, I have never met. It was also his first time ever baptizing anybody so I was a little apprehensive as it is. He dunked me the first time and it's normal for your feet to kind of slip out from underneath you but usually, the man baptizing will use his hand to kind of lift you up from your back. He just decided not to do that but he was still holding onto my other arm so I was just flailing around drowning in the baptismal font... It felt like an eternity that I couldn't get my footing. Mind you the font is probably 3-4 feet deep. I literally had to push the man away from me so that I could grab ahold of the railing into the font and get my feet under me. I was mortified but also kind of wanted to cackle because come on it's funny. Just a note to self to always tell the person baptizing to either use his hand to lift you up or literally step on your feet. That's what sister Straatman did after me cuz she didn't want the same experience.
Something that was said in the temple thought that has really stuck with me is what one of the temple workers said. He said when you are getting baptized to pay attention to 3 names. Your own name, the person you are getting baptized for, and Jesus Christ. When each of the names are said he wanted us to think about how when he says our name, Heavenly Father is aware of me and my life. And when they say the person's name, Heavenly Father is aware of them and the life they lived. That really stuck with me because God is truly in the details of our lives even if we don't know it. HE IS AWARE OF YOU!!!
I love you all so so much and miss you every day but there is no place I'd rather be than Ann Arbor, Michigan!!
