Helloooo everybodyyyy!! If you've read any of the titles of my letters, you know my family is a bit obsessed with the TV show Friends... This one hits a little differently because the actor who plays Chandler passed away. No one bring it up to my sister Sabrina because she will cry. Anyway, it's getting chilly and it even snowed a little bit today. So I know Halloween is tomorrow BUT Sister Griffin and I bought Christmas lights and I hung them up around our apartment lol. I feel much better.

This week was honestly not that great. I feel like a lot of missionary emails make it seem like life is always butterflies and rainbows but it is SOOO far from that. Don't get me wrong the mission is awesome but some weeks/transfers just are lowkey the worst.
Anyway, on Monday we met with our recent convert Chris and he asked us if we could help him start his own church, I couldn't help but laugh when he asked. He's an interesting one. He came to church yesterday so that's still good.
On Tuesday I woke up, worked out, showered, and then I still had a bit of time before personal study so I laid down for a little bit. After a while, I started to get out of bed and I don't even know what I did but something in my neck popped and I couldn't move my head or get up it hurt SO bad!! I couldn't get out of bed without Sister Griffin helping me. She made me call my Mission President and he was asking me all of these questions to make sure it wasn't anything wrong with my spinal cord. He then told me to not do anything to hurt it so I was basically bedridden for a day. It sounds so dumb but that was Tuesday.
Wednesday, we went on exchanges with the Northville Sisters so I went to Northville with Sister Crowley and it was so fun! We put one of their friends Maria on date and she is just the cutest!
Thursday, we switched back from the exchange and then we had to get the oil in our car changed so nothing too exciting there. After that, we had a lesson with our friend Eliana and she told us she would love to join the church but she can't come to church until mid-December so we are praying hard she gets Sundays off!!
On Saturday we had our ward Halloween party and we were trying to dress up as grannies but I guess we just looked more like tired missionaries so that's what we settled with. One of my favorite members in the ward came up to me and gave us a half gallon of Michigan apple cider and OH MY GOODNESS it is sooooo good! That made my day because idk what it was but Saturday was not fun.
Sunday, we had our friends Shane and Donna come to church and I think they are so close to getting baptized! I just love them!! Since it was the 5th Sunday of the month the Bishop taught the 2nd hour and he said some things that stood out to me. He told us that the word enthusiasm comes from the Greek word entheos which means "the God within" and he was talking about how when we do things with enthusiasm with our focus on God, our attitude changes and we become happier in situations that we aren't too happy in. That just stuck out to me because I feel like I've been being pretty negative about a lot of things recently so that was a good reminder.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good week and stays warm!! I love you all so much!!

Helloooo everybodyyyy this week has been a Rollercoaster of emotions let me tell you...

On Monday we had a district activity and we went to Applebee's and carved pumpkins it was so fun!!
The fall colors are POPPING and I absolutely love it!
Tuesday we had zone conference and I did a musical number. I sang a song called A Missionaries Prayer and my zone leader Elder Dabell played the piano. I was so nervous but I surprisingly didn't shake as bad as I thought I was going to lol.
Wednesday is when everything went downhill... We were having a lesson with our recent convert Chris and oh my goodness I wish I could erase that from my memory. He was saying some really mean things about the church and it just made me feel so sad and lowkey kind of just nasty. Idk how to describe it. While he was talking this lady in a full-on stripper outfit came up to us asking for help. She was dripping in sweat and said she'd been walking for hours and that she was from Flint and had no clue where she was. She told us she just got out of jail for not paying a speeding ticket and she just needed to charge her phone but she didn't have a cube. I luckily had my cube in the car which I NEVER have so we took her in the church building and helped her out. I saw it as a huge miracle because I didn't have to keep talking to Chris which sounds really mean. Anyway, we had our Book of Mormon class right after that and it went pretty well. And then after that Chris left and he called us saying he met a member of the ward and then made some really horrible accusations against them. I don't want to get into too much detail but man was it bad. While that all was happening the lady that we helped was out in the parking lot absolutely screaming at someone on the phone. Idk what ended up happening but all I know is the cops were called. We had to make a few calls to our DL, ZL, and Mission President to ask what to do about the Chris situation so needless to say, there were lots of tears that night. Luckily it was my brother's birthday so I got to cry about it to my family.
Something that has helped this week is we are teaching a few other really solid people. We had a lesson with our friend Donna who is married to a member but he sadly passed away. But she's been coming to church and she calls us Heavenly Sisters and it just makes my day better. We also are teaching this guy named Shane who we are really close to putting on date so let's hope no one else goes crazy. Another girl we are teaching is actually the niece of one of the members I'm our ward and we had a lesson with her and her aunt in the aunt's house and it was so cool!! She came to a baptism with us in Farmington Hills on Saturday!!
That's same day we were doing service for this old lady in our ward and as I was helping her hang curtains up she randomly said "How much do you weigh?" I was caught off guard and said huh? And then she said, "Yeah you the tall one if you could take a guess how much do you weigh?" So I very awkwardly told her a guess and then she was like "Oh yeah I'm close to that but to get to my goal weight I have to lose about 10 pounds." Idk what she was trying to tell me but she definitely thought we were the same height as well when I'm a lot taller than her lolol!!
Sunday was really good and just what I needed after the week I had had. It was the primary program and Holy cow I love kids!! They are so precious and just carry the spirit with them. Ngl (not gonna lie) I was not in a good mood that morning but as I was taking the Sacrament and listening to those kids, I just felt so much peace and it was so nice!!
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good week!!

Subject: The one where Chris got baptized:))

Hellooooo everybodyyyy! I hope you're all doing well! Cuz I'm doing pretty good!

On Monday I think I had one of the worst district activities I've had. It was just an off day but the rest of the week was better! We had a lot of service at this clothes drive going on so that was tiring but fun.
Wednesday we had our Book of Mormon class and one of our friends named Shane came he loved it and he said he can see himself getting baptized eventually!
On Thursday we had interviews with President and Sister Johnson and that was interesting. I might be getting transferred and Sister Griffin might be staying for 5 transfers so stay tuned for that in 3 weeks... crazy that the transfer is already halfway done, blows my mind! We met with this lady named Donna who was married to a member of the church but he sadly passed away about a month ago. She told a member in our ward that she wanted to meet with us so we did and oh my goodness I just love her. She's the cutest and I can definitely see her getting baptized!!
Friday we had a stl council at the mission home and we just talked about baptizing more so I guess I know what I gotta do...
Saturday is when Chris got baptized!! All of your prayers worked! His baptism was amazing and so many people showed up to support him!! Shane came and our friend Eliana came too who also mentioned that if she got baptized she would want to do it in our church!! Howell is ready to harvest let me tell ya!!
Sunday was exciting but good. I got a call on Saturday, the day before Sunday, and I was asked to give a talk. I had no time to write it so I just gave a talk that I already gave in my first area.  Edited it a lot and everybody loved it! They thought I was hilarious lol! While I'm sitting on the stand, we are about to sing the opening hymn and I look up and no one is leading. I thought it was kind of interesting but didn't think that much of it. I looked back at the organist and she looked at me and just held out the note waiting for someone to get up and lead so I had to jump up and do it. It was the Sister Welch show jk
Chris received the gift of the Holy Ghost and it was so special! I love this gospel it's kinda crazy!
Anyway, I hope you have an amazing week!! Love you lots!!

Ok, so this week was kind of all over the place and this email is probably going to be brief because this pday did not go as planned, but on a happier note let's get to how this week was.

Monday was a pretty chill pday and it felt like the first chill one in a while! On Monday night I had just gotten out of the shower and it was like 10:15 when our phone started ringing and the Aps were calling us. I had a little heart attack because they NEVER randomly call us. We answered after a while of it ringing and long story short they asked me how fast I could whip up a musical number for MLC THE NEXT DAY. Not even a 12-hour notice, which is crazy. So, I had to do a musical number which was kind of interesting. MLC was good not the best one I've been to but not bad.
Wednesday, we had District Council which was fun as always. I am in a sistrict (a district with all sisters except the district leader) so that's also kinda fun... that night we had our Book of Mormon class and a whopping one person showed up. Go us!! At least we had one show up. Oh, and I also hit my 15-month mark which is literally insane I'm scared with how fast it's gone by.
Our friend Chris is officially getting baptized on Saturday at 7 pm!! It's so fun watching people develop their testimonies!
Anyway, the rest of the week was pretty average and I can't think of much else to write about. I think I might be getting sick so that's always the best!!
Love you all so much!!

Helloooo everybodyyyy!! I hope everyone had a good week! Mine was sure eventful so let's get into it!

On Monday we had a lesson with our friend Chris and he is now getting baptized on October 14th so keep praying for him!
On Tuesday we had a Sisters only zoom all about dressing modestly so that was interesting.
Wednesday we had our last district council of the transfer and our District Leader made us his famous mac n cheese and it was so good. That night we found out that Me and Sister Griffin were staying together for a second transfer! Kinda crazy because this is the first time I've had a companion longer than a transfer since January. Kinda fun. The really sad thing was I couldn't go to transfers to say by to all of my best friends going home. Literally depressed.
That night we had our first Book of Mormon class and this really old lady came in our ward that literally has lost her mind. Afterwards, she pulled the Elders outside the room and told them that was a disgusting waste of her time and that she hated it. Literally all we did was read the Book of Mormon so looks like she just doesn't like the word of God lol.
Thursday I posted a Book of Mormon and Bible listing on Facebook (for free) and I included a picture of me and Sis Griffin. This member from Missouri messaged me about it and told me that my picture I used was not mission worthy and that she was going to contact her Bishop and Mission President over there to see what they thought about it. I thought it was funny.
On Friday we got the Elders area so now we cover ALL of Howell so our area is HUGE so that's fun.
On Saturday I woke up to a text from one of our most progressing people that we were going to put on date for baptism individually and he basically asked me on a date and wanted to get to know me better "not as Sister Welch but as Tara." Kinda nasty considering hes like late 20s early 30s.
We have been stuck inside since Friday because Sister Griffin woke up with a cold so I've been going stir crazy inside but
the highlight of the week was General Conference. There were so many good talks and I definitely felt the Spirit. I'm so grateful that we have modern day prophets and apostles!! President Nelson talked about thinking Celestial which basically just means having an eternal perspective. If you haven't watched it yet GO WATCH IT!!
I love you all SOO much!!
