Hellooo everybodyyy!! I hope everyone had an amazing week and an awesome Valentine's day! This week was full of a lot of stuff that I can barely remember so bare with me.
On Monday we went to this restaurant called DK Donuts. It's a place that makes burgers but instead of a normal bun, the bun is a glazed donut. It is very interesting but weirdly good. We also went to the mall in Auburn Hills and walked around the entire thing. Man, that was a workout because that place is HUGE.
For Valentine's day, the senior missionaries over in Flint came to Lapeer with one of Sister Jorgensen's recent converts and we went out to lunch. We went to this really good BBQ place called Woodchips that I have probably written about before because it's delicious. The rest of that day we spent heart-attacking people's doors. It was a fun time.
On Wednesday we had a lesson with the Chislett's (the family we've been teaching) and our District leader and his companion came with us and taught the lesson. It was so fun and went really well! It gave all of the boys a chance to hang out with other boys. They loved it! After the lesson Elder Timothy went out to the car and got his guitar and played the kids songs. It really helped get their energy out.
On Thursday we went to a restaurant I had never been to before called Sushi & Thai. We got 2 sushi rolls and Thai noodles. They were so spicy I could hardly breathe but they were really good. That night we went over to the Chislett's again because Brandi (the mom) had her baptismal interview with our mission president that night. It went so well and she's getting baptized with her son Kolton this Saturday!! They have made such an effort to come closer to Jesus Christ and it has visibly made a difference in their lives. That same night, Sister Jorgensen gave her departing testimony on the mission fireside because she's going home this next week. It was kinda crazy.
On Friday night we switched for exchanges. I stayed in Lapeer with Sister Slade. The next day we had to go to a baptism of a kid in the ward and I was asked to play the piano to a song I never heard before. It was interesting but I did ok.
A miracle we saw is we were out knocking on doors and we were just getting rejected or nobody would answer. We were heading back to the car when Sister Slade pointed to a house and said we should knock on it. I said ok so we went up and a guy answered the door and said we could share our message. We shared it and he said we could come back and share more!! His name is Chris and we are now teaching 3 Chris's. It's kind of hard to keep track of which one we are talking about but I'm not complaining.
Also, a random thing we did this week is this lady named Lorann who we sometimes do service for dislocated her finger and so she asked if we could go over and help with a couple of things. We get there and she makes me wash her hair and braid it for her. I never thought I would do that on my mission but here we are...
This week has been good. I have really been looking for the Lord's hand in my life and as I have been looking, I've been finding it!! God is in the details of our lives and he cares about the little things that we care about. I am so grateful for a living Prophet that truly is the prophet of the whole earth. I love being a missionary even though it's mega hard, it's the best thing I could be doing and I don't regret a second of it!
I love every single one of you and miss you tons!!
Trust in the Lord
Love,
Sister Welch ♡
