The one where I think my Mission President likes to make fun of my height...
Helloooo everybodyyy! This week has been a rollercoaster of emotions like I feel like most weeks are.
On Monday we had a zone activity where we had a Friendsgiving and we played a bunch of volleyball and ate a bunch of food. I made my famous funeral potatoes and everyone loved them! One of the Sisters in the zone told me I was ready to be a mother and I took that as a compliment. We also pied the zone leaders in the face so that was really fun to watch.
On Wednesday morning my Mission President called us to tell me I was staying in Howell and that my companion was going to be Sister Lamborn and she's been out for about a year. When President called to tell me, he said "The only bad thing about you two being together is we put the shortest sister in the mission with the tallest." My new companion is 4'11"...... We get a lot of stares out in public..... Anyway, we also had our last district council of the transfer, and ngl it was so sad. Because our district only has 3 companionships in it, we all got super close and I kinda wanna cry about it but it's fine.
Friday we went to tranfers and me and Sister Griffin parted ways. I hate being with companions for 2 transfers because you get so close and you get used to them so when you leave each other there is soooo much to get used to with a different companion. But I always LOVE going to transfers!! I saw a lot of my friends and it just makes me so so happy. Sometimes I think back to when I was not gonna go on a mission and then I am so glad that I did because I would have missed out on some of my best friends in the whole world!!
Sunday was really good!! In Sacrament meeting and Relief Society, we talked a lot about abiding in Christ. The gist of that is if we walk with Christ and make the decisions to grow closer to Him, we will feel His hand in our lives more. Christ is ALWAYS there for every one of us even if it doesn't feel like it. I've had to remind myself of that a lot this week because I've said it once and I'll say it again.... missions are HARD but they are so worth it for the people you meet and the testimony you grow of the restored gospel on the earth today. God is in the details and He loves us all so individually and perfectly!!
Anyway, after that spiritual thought a cool miracle we saw yesterday was we were out stopping by people and knocking around and I felt really prompted to go down a certain street so we did and then my comp felt really prompted to knock on a certain house (we call that a team bing). The lady named Sophia answered and she was so nice and she told us she would love to hear a message because she is the only believer in her house and would love to talk with us!! Kinda cool!!
Here's a little reminder that I need so I'm going to write it and maybe one of you needs it too... but God knows what He is doing even if we don't. We may not know why God has certain things happen but He does so just sit back and relax and He's got your back!!!
I love you all more than you know!!
Trust in the Lord
Love,
Sister Welch ♡
